Our best for His Glory

FAITH:

Our battles are first won or lost in the secret places of our will in God’s presence, never in full view of the world. The Spirit of God seizes me and I am compelled to get alone with God and fight the battle before Him. Until I do this, I will lose every time. The battle may take one minute or one year, but that will depend on me, not God. However long it takes, I must wrestle with it alone before God, and I must resolve to go through the hell of renunciation or rejection before Him. Nothing has any power over someone who has fought the battle before God and won there.

I should never say, "I will wait until I get into difficult circumstances and then I’ll put God to the test." Trying to do that will not work. I must first get the issue settled between God and myself in the secret places of my soul, where no one else can interfere. Then I can go ahead, knowing with certainty that the battle is won. Lose it there, and calamity, disaster, and defeat before the world are as sure as the laws of God. The reason the battle is lost is that I fight it first in the external world. Get alone with God, do battle before Him, and settle the matter once and for all.

In dealing with other people, our stance should always be to drive them toward making a decision of their will. That is how surrendering to God begins. Not often, but every once in a while, God brings us to a major turning point— a great crossroads in our life. From that point we either go toward a more and more slow, lazy, and useless Christian life, or we become more and more on fire, giving our utmost for His highest— our best for His glory. by Oswald Chambers

Lord, purify my heart and remove from my lips anything that keeps me from loving You. May I always seek a life of godliness. You have promised to be with me in all of my challenges, so help me to live in such a way as to glorify your holy name in both word and deed. The Book of Deuteronomy
If you've ever been a part of the following scene, you know you'll never forget it.

Inside the house is a quiet bedroom. Last springs prom photo sits on the bedside table. A dried homecoming mum hangs from the bulletin board. Outside the house is a packed car. Both the trunk and seat are full of clothes, books, and stereo. What was in the room is now in the car. The one who used to live in the room is about to drive the car...to college.

Both parent and child are stunned by the moment. What happened to childhood? Who fast-forwarded the years? Why, just yesterday this child was filling the house with cartwheels and playdough--now look. He's so tall. She's such a beauty. The child is grown.

The grown child is equally stunned. The road ahead looks lonely and long. There is safety in these walls. Protection. Security. Those pleas for independence so recently voiced are unheard today. "Just say the word, Dad, I'll stay. Just ask me Mom, I won't leave."

But Mom and Dad know better. They know that love releases the loved. They know the training is over. The last bell has rung. The class is dismissed, and the application has begun.

And so the parent and the child hesitate at the side of the car. There's no time to teach new truths. There's no time to instill values or lay foundations. There is only one word that can be said,----remember. Remember who loves you. Remember what matters. Remember what is right and what is wrong.

Remember.

In Deuteronomy God tells his children to remember.

Israel is about to make a transition. For forty years they have wandered. Now they are about to settle down in a new land. It's a time of transition. From Moses to Joshua. From the wilderness to the promised land. From nomads to farmers. From people with no land to people of the land.

God wants them to stay faithful. Stay distinctive. For forty days Moses teaches the words you are about to read; God repeats what he has already taught. Deutero means second. Nomos means law. Deuteronomy is a second hearing of the law.

God didn't want them to forget.

Isn't the Bible full of contradictions?

FAITH:

It is truly amazing how often this question is asked. This question contains the assumption that the Bible is filled with many obvious discrepancies which, if true, would make it impossible to believe that the Bible has a divine origin. It is a popular idea to maintain that the Bible disagrees with itself, which casts considerable doubt on its trustworthiness.

If, indeed, the Bible does contain demonstrable errors, it would show that at least those parts could not have come from a perfect, all-knowing God. We do not argue with this conclusion, but we do disagree with the initial premise that the Scriptures are full of mistakes. It is very easy to accuse the Bible of inaccuracies, but it is quite another matter to prove it.

Certain passages at first glance appear to be contradictory, but further investigation will show that this is not the case.

One of the things for which we appeal with regard to possible contradictions is fairness. We should not minimize or exaggerate the
problem, and we must always begin by giving the author the benefit of
the doubt. This is the rule in other literature, and we ask that it also be the rule here. We find so often that people want to employ a different set of rules when it comes to examining the Bible, and to this we immediately object.

What constitutes a contradiction? The law of non-contradiction, which is the basis of all logical thinking, states that a thing cannot be both a and non-a at the same time. In other words, it cannot be both raining and not raining at the same time.

If one can demonstrate a violation of this principle from Scripture, then and only then can he prove a contradiction. For example, if the Bible said—which it does not—that Jesus died by crucifixion both at Jerusalem and at Nazareth at the same time, this would be a provable error.

When facing possible contradictions, it is of the highest importance to remember that two statements may differ from each other without being contradictory. Some fail to make a distinction between contradiction and difference.

For example, the case of the blind men at Jericho. Matthew relates how
two blind men met Jesus, while both Mark and Luke mention only one.
However, neither of these statement denies the other, but rather they
are complementary.

Suppose you were talking to the mayor of your city and the chief of police at city hall. Later, you see your friend, Jim, and tell him you talked to the mayor today. An hour later, you see your friend, John, and tell him you talked to both the mayor and the chief of police.

When your friends compare notes, there is a seeming contradiction. But
there is no contradiction. If you had told Jim that you talked only to the mayor, you would have contradicted that statement by what you told John.

The statements you actually made to Jim and John are different, but not contradictory. Likewise, many biblical statements fall into this category. Many think they find errors in passages that they have not correctly read.

In the Book of Judges we have the account of the death of Sisera. Judges 5:25–27 is supposed to represent Jael as having slain him with her hammer and tent peg while he was drinking milk. Judges 4:21 says she did it while he was asleep. However, a closer reading of Judges 5:25–27 will reveal that it is not stated that he was drinking milk at the moment of impact. Thus, the discrepancy disappears.

Sometimes two passages appear to be contradictory because the translation is not as accurate as it could be. A knowledge of the original languages of the Bible can immediately solve these difficulties, for both Greek and Hebrew—as all languages—have their peculiarities that make them difficult to render into English or any other language.

A classic example concerns the accounts of Paul's conversion as recorded in the Book of Acts. Acts 9:7 (KJV) states, "The men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man." Acts 22:9 (KJV) reads, "And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me."

These statements seem contradictory, with one saying that Paul's
companions heard a voice, while the other account says that no voice was heard. However, a knowledge of Greek solves this difficulty. As the Greek scholar, W. F. Arndt, explains:

"The construction of the verb 'to hear' (akouo) is not the same in both accounts. In Acts 9:7 it is used with the genitive, in Acts 22:9 with the accusative. The construction with the genitive simply expresses that something is being heard or that certain sounds reach the ear; nothing is indicated as to whether a person understands what he hears or not.

"The construction with the accusative, however, describes a hearing
which includes mental apprehension of the message spoken. From this it
becomes evident that the two passages are not contradictory.

"Acts 22:9 does not deny that the associates of Paul heard certain sounds; it simply declares that they did not hear in such a way as to understand what was being said. Our English idiom in this case simply is not so expressive as the Greek" (Does the Bible Contradict Itself, pp. 13–14.)

It must also be stressed that when a possible explanation is given to a Bible difficulty, it is unreasonable to state that the passage contains a demonstrable error. Some difficulties in Scripture result from our inadequate knowledge about the circumstances, and do not necessarily involve an error. These only prove that we are ignorant of the background.

As historical and archaeological study proceed, new light is being shed on difficult portions of Scripture and many "errors" have disappeared with the new understanding. We need a wait-and-see attitude on some problems.

While all Bible difficulties and discrepancies have not yet been cleared up, it is our firm conviction that as more knowledge is gained of the Bible's past, these problems will fade away. The biblical conception of God is an all-knowing, all-powerful being who does not contradict Himself, and so we feel that His Word, when properly understood, will not contradict itself.

FOOD:

Hamburger Corn Bread Casserole
1 pound lean ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1 can (15 ounces) ranch-style beans
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
TOPPING:
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cornmeal
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup fat-free milk
1 tablespoon canola oil

In a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no
longer pink; drain. Add the beans, tomatoes, chili powder and Worcestershire
sauce; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes.
Transfer to an 11-in. x 7-in. baking dish coated with cooking spray. For
topping, in a small bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder
and salt. Combine the egg, milk and oil; stir into dry ingredients just
until moistened. Spoon over filling; gently spread to cover the top. Bake,
uncovered, at 425° for 14-18 minutes or until filling is bubbly and a
toothpick inserted into topping comes out clean. Let stand for 5 minutes
before cutting. Yield: 6 servings.

IT'S CHRIST

FAITH: 

In elementary school the teacher would pass out drawings with the question at the bottom “What’s wrong with this picture?” Remember them? We’d look closely for something that didn’t fit?

A farmyard scene with a piano near the water trough. A classroom with a pirate seated on the back row. An astronaut on the moon with a pay phone in the background. We’d ponder the picture and point to the piano or pirate or pay phone and say, “This doesn’t fit.” Something is out of place. Something is absurd. Pianos don’t belong in farmyards. Pirates don’t sit in classrooms. Pay phones aren’t found on the moon, And God doesn’t chum with the common folk or snooze in fishing boats.

But according to the Bible he did. “For in Christ there is all of God in a human body” (Col. 2:9 TLB). Jesus was not a godlike man, nor a manlike God. He was God-man.

Midwifed by a carpenter. Bathed by a peasant girl. The maker of the world with a bellybutton. The author of the Torah being taught the Torah. Heaven’s human. And because he was, we are left with scratch-your-head, double-blink, what’s wrong-with-this-picture? Moments like these: Bordeaux instead of H2O. A cripple sponsoring the town dance. A sack lunch satisfying five thousand tummies. And, most of all, a grave: guarded by soldiers, sealed by a rock, yet vacated by a three days- dead man.

What do we do with such moments?

What do we do with such a person? We applaud men for doing good things. We enshrine God for doing great things. But when a man does God things? One thing is certain, we can’t ignore him.

Why would we want to? If these moments are factual, if the claim of Christ is actual, then he was, at once, man and God.

There he was, the single most significant person who ever lived. Forget MVP; he is the entire league. The head of the parade? Hardly. No one else shares the street. Who comes close? Humanity’s best and brightest fade like dime-store rubies next to him.

Dismiss him? We can’t. Resist him? Equally difficult. Don’t we need a God-man Savior? A just-God Jesus could make us but not understand us. A just-man Jesus could love us but never save us. But a God-man Jesus? Near enough to touch. Strong enough to trust. A next door Savior. A Savior found by millions to be irresistible. Nothing compares to “the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord” (Phil. 3:8 RSV). The reward of Christianity is Christ.

Do you journey to the Grand Canyon for the souvenir T-shirt or the snow globe with the snowflakes that fall when you shake it? No. The reward of the Grand Canyon is the Grand Canyon. The wide-eyed realization that you are part of something ancient, splendid, powerful, and greater than you. The cache of Christianity is Christ. Not money in the bank or a car in the garage or a healthy body or a better self-image. Secondary and tertiary fruits perhaps. But the Fort Knox of faith is Christ. Fellowship with him. Walking with him. Pondering him. Exploring him. The heart-stopping realization that in him you are part of something ancient, endless, unstoppable, and unfathomable. And that he, who can dig the Grand Canyon with his pinkie, thinks you’re worth his death on Roman timber. Christ is the reward of Christianity. Why else would Paul make him his supreme desire? “I want to know Christ” (Phil 3:10 NCV).

Do you desire the same? My idea is simple. Let’s look at some places he went and some people he touched. Join me on a quest for his “God-manness.” Your may be amazed. More important, you may be changed. “We all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being changed into his likeness from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit” (2Cor. 3:18 RSV).

FOOD: 

This is my aunt's recipe and is delicious. Since it makes a lot I usually make half the amount and it will feed 4-6 people. I hope you try it. 

WARSAW SPAGHETTI  

2 pounds spiral macaroni, cooked and drained, do not rinse. 

2 quarts sauerkraut, drained 

4 large onions, chopped  

3 cans (10-3/4oz. each) Cream of Mushroom soup,undiluted 

1/2 cup margarine or butter 

2 (4oz.) can mushrooms, drained 

2 pounds of Kielbasi or smoked sausage,sliced 1/2 inch thick  

Directions: In large Dutch oven saute onions in margarine until soft. Add sauerkraut, soup and meat. Stir together until well combined. Add macaroni and mushrooms. Stir gently until well mixed. Cover and bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 1 hour or until heated through. NOTE: I use 2 cans of soup when I make half the recipe.:  

FUN:  

1. WILL THE REAL DUMMY PLEASE STAND UP? AT&T fired President John Walter after nine months, saying he lacked intellectual leadership. He received a $26 million severance package. Perhaps it's not Walter who's lacking intelligence.  

2. WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM OUR FRIENDS. Police in Oakland , CA spent two hours attempting to subdue a gunman who had barricaded himself inside his home. After firing ten tear gas canisters, officers discovered that the man was standing beside them in the police line, shouting, 'Please come out and give yourself up.'  

3. WHAT WAS PLAN B??? An Illinois man, pretending to have a gun, kidnapped a motorist and forced him to drive to two different automated teller machines, wherein the kidnapper proceeded to withdraw money from his own bank accounts. 4. THE GETAWAY! A man walked into a Topeka , Kansas Kwik Stop and asked for all the money in the cash drawer. Apparently, the take was too s mall, so he tied up the store clerk and worked the counter himself for three hours until police showed up and grabbed him.  

5. DID I SAY THAT??? Police in Los Angeles had good luck with a robbery suspect who just couldn't control himself during a lineup. Detectives asked the man in the lineup to stand still and repeat the words: 'Give me all your money or I'll shoot'. Annoyed, the man shouted, 'That's not what I said!'  

6. ARE WE COMMUNICATING??? A man spoke frantically into the phone: 'My wife is pregnant and her contractions are only two minutes apart'. 'Is this her first child?' the doctor asked. 'No!' the man shouted, 'This is her husband!'  

7. NOT THE SHARPEST TOOL IN THE SHED! In Modesto , CA , Steven Richard King was arrested for trying to hold up a Bank of America branch without a weapon. King used a thumb and a finger to simulate a gun. Unfortunately, he failed to keep his hand in his pocket. (hel looooo oo)!  

8. THE GRAND FINALE!!! Last summer, down on Lake Isabella, located in the high desert, an hour east of Bakersfield, CA, some folks, new to boating, were having a problem. No matter how hard they tried, they couldn't get their brand new 22 foot boat, going. It was very sluggish in almost every maneuver, no matter how much power they applied. After about an hour of trying to make it go, they putted into a nearby marina, thinking someone there may be able to tell them what was wrong. A thorough topside check revealed everything in perfect working condition The engine ran fine, the out-drive went up and down, and the propeller was the correct size and pitch. So, one of the marina guys jumped in the water to check underneath. He came up choking on water, he was laughing so hard. NOW REMEMBER...THIS IS TRUE. Under the boat, still strapped securely in place, was the trailer!

Landings.....

FAITH:

I was on an early morning flight into Pittsburgh. It's the kind where most of the passengers are real veteran flyers, you know, like business people. And wouldn't you know, we got one of those two-for-the-price-of-one landings. Yeah, it's one of those bumpy, bouncy ones. You know? I mean, even with the seasoned flyers aboard, that landing got everyone's heads out of their papers and their briefcases - including mine. I couldn't wait to hear what the flight attendant was going to say. And, fortunately, we got one of the few that could show a sense of humor. He came on and said, "Ladies and gentlemen, now that I have your attention, I'd like to make a few announcements!" That's great! Believe me, after a landing like that, he had our attention!

You may have been experiencing a few bumpy landings lately yourself. It might be medical, or marital, economic, romantic, maybe it's parental issues or relationship issues. You're wondering why things have been so rocky. There could be many reasons, but we know that ultimately God is in charge of things. So, why has He sent or allowed these bumpy landings? Could it be He's trying to get your attention? Maybe if you could hear God's voice audibly right now, you'd hear Him saying, "Now that I have your attention, I'd like to make a few announcements."

One of King David's Psalms in the Old Testament is about how our bumpy landings can serve as spiritual wakeup calls. In our word for today from the Word of God in Psalm 32:1, he says, "Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered...When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer."

David says the best position you can be in in your life is to have all your sins forgiven, your moral mistakes forgiven and cleaned up and to know you're OK with God and that you have a new beginning. But he goes on to say that he wasn't really dealing with the junk that was between him and God until he hit some bumpy landings. Until he started hurting physically, emotionally, until he felt God's heavy hand on him...until he was shot. That's when God got his attention and showed him that he needed to face his sin problem which was the ultimate cause of all his other problems.

It could be God is trying to make the same kind of announcement to you right now. I hope that through your bumpy landings Jesus can finally get your attention. His announcements? Well, things you might otherwise not have listened to or considered. He's using the trouble to say to you things like, "You are not enough, you need something lasting, you've tried it long enough without Me, or I love you so much." And He stands ready to do for you what you have needed and maybe avoided for years - to remove what's between you and the God that you need so much.

Jesus can do that because He absorbed all the guilt and all the hell of all your sin when He paid for it on the cross. And your bumpy landings may be all to bring you to the place that you've missed all these years - that cross where He loved you enough to die for you. All the journey of your life has been to bring you to this moment where you could finally commit yourself to the Savior you were made by, the Savior you were made for, the Savior who loves you so very much. Then you will be able to say as King David did, "Lord, You forgave the guilt of my sin."

Your bumpy landings may have shaken up your life, but only so you would turn your attention to the Son of God so He could finally bring you safely home. by Ron Hutchcraft

Father, give us strength as we try to be more like Jesus in our homes. We ask you to keep the evil one away from us; keep us close. Let our homes be testimonies of your love for us, that when people see our homes, they would see how you have loved the world. In Jesus' name, Amen.

10 THINGS I AM THANKFUL FOR
1. That my son was not killed today when a chain broke as a huge pit was being lifted up over him and knocked him to the ground
2. The great day I had talking with the grandkids and going shopping with them
3. Being in a huge craft store I used to work in
4. Finding all the ingredients for a Thai dinner
5. Beautiful sunshiny day
6. Working in the kitchen preparing dinner with my grandkids
7. Riding in the car with the grand daughter driving
8. Spending time talking with my son this morning before he went to work
9. Teaching my grand daughter to crochet
10. God granting me a long enough life to see my grand kids growing up

FOOD:

Olive Garden Basil Butter and Shrimp on Pasta
BASIL BUTTER

2 oz Fresh basil leaves (about - 2 bunches
10 oz Butter, softened - (2-1/2 cubes)
1 t Minced garlic
1/4 ts Salt
1/8 ts Black pepper
3 tb Grated Parmesan cheese plus - additional for garnish
1 tb Grated Romano cheese

REST OF DISH

1 lb Fresh Linguine or angel - hair pasta
1 lb Medium shrimp, shelled

Remove any large stems from basil and wash leaves. Shake off
excess water and dry with paper towel.

Place in food processor; process until finely chopped.
Process in two batches if necessary to get a uniformly chopped
basil.
Remove from processor and reserve.

Place butter in small mixer bowl. Using an electric mixer, whip
butter until pliable. Add garlic, salt, pepper, Parmesan and Romano
cheeses, and basil; mix until well incorporated. Basil butter can be used
immediately or stored covered in refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.

Cook pasta according to directions, drain well and keep warm.
Melt basil butter in large skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp and saute'
just until done, about 2 to 3 minutes. Serve over hot cooked pasta. Pass
freshly grated Parmesan cheese.

Makes 4 to 6 servings.

FUN:

A mom was concerned about her kindergarten son walking to school. He didn't want his mother to walk with him. She wanted to give him the feeling that he had some independence but yet know that he was safe.

So she had an idea of how to handle it. She asked a neighbor if she would please follow him to school in the mornings, staying at a distance, so he probably wouldn't notice her.

She said that since she was up early with her toddler anyway, it would be a good way for them to get some exercise as well, so she agreed.

The next school day, the neighbor and her little girl set out following behind Timmy as he walked to school with another neighbor girl he knew. She did this for the whole week.

As the two walked and chatted, kicking stones and twigs, Timmy's little friend noticed the same lady was following them as she seemed to do every day all week. Finally she said to Timmy, 'Have you noticed that lady following us to school all week?
Do you know her?'
Timmy nonchalantly replied,
'Yeah, I know who she is.'
The little girl said, 'Well, who is she?'
'That's just Shirley Goodnest,' Timmy replied, 'and her daughter Marcy.'

'Shirley Goodnest? Who the heck is she and why is she following us? '

'Well,' Timmy explained, 'every night my Mom makes me say the 23rd Psalm with my prayers, 'cuz she worries about me so much.
And in the Psalm, it says, 'Shirley Goodnest and Marcy shall follow
me all the days of my life', so I guess I'll just have to get used to it!'

Friends

I can't give solutions to all of life's problems, doubts, or fears; But I can listen to you, and together we will search for answers.

I can't change your past with all it's heartache and pain,nor the future with it's untold stories; But I can be there now when you need me to care.

I can't keep your feet from stumbling; I can only offer my hand that you may grasp it and not fall.

This lovely piece on friendship was sent to me via email and I just had to share it with this group. I am flying today and will be in New Mexico visiting my family and will post on Thursday instead of today. Please keep me in prayer as the altitude is very high here and I am still having the breathing problems.

Never be defeated

FAITH: 

Psalms 143:1 - 144:15  

Whether David felt afraid or joyful, he found strength by reading God's Word and praying.

David knew life went by too quickly to neglect his relationship with God. Regardless of the situation, David put his relationship with God first.  

God's way is to take some word in His Book and make it spirit and life. Then, relying upon that word, it is possible for us to go on from strength to strength. There is always something new in our lives which calls for vital faith, if we are to go on with God; but there is always the word waiting in His Book which will meet us just where we are and carry us further on. It will be a fight to the end -- "the good fight of faith" is His word about it --but full provision is made for victory in that fight, and whether the matter that negates us has to do with our inner life or the outer, there is nothing to fear; It is our Father's good pleasure to give us the Kingdom. We need never--by his grace we shall never--be defeated.

FRIENDS: Father, clear my thoughts and open my mind that I might see You. Help me to dwell on things that will bring glory to You. Renew my mind each day and transform me into the person who wishes to please You through willful obedience to Your Word. Give me the mind of Christ that I might look beyond my own selfish desires and live to please You every moment of every day. For You are more wonderful than words can say.I praise you God. In Jesus' name, Amen.

~ The Book of Romans ~

At the moment I don't feel too smart. I just got off the wrong plane that took me to the wrong city and left me at the wrong airport. I went east instead of west and ended up in Houston instead of Denver.  

It didn't look like the wrong plane; but is was. I walked through the wrong gate, dozed off on the wrong flight, and ended up in the wrong place. Paul says we've all done the same thing. Not with airplanes and airports, but with our lives and God. He tells the Roman readers,  

There is no one who always does what is right, not even one (3:10) 

All have sinned and are not good enough for God's glory.....(3:23)  

We are all on the wrong plane, he says. All of us. Gentile and Jew. Every person has taken the wrong turn. And we need help. 

In this profound Epistle, Paul explores all the wrong options and takes us to the only correct one. The wrong solutions are pleasure and pride. (chapters 1 and 2), the correct solution is Christ Jesus (3:21 - 26). According to Paul, we are saved by grace (undeserved, unearned favor) through faith (complete trust) in Jesus and his work. The letter concludes with practical instruction for a growing church, including thoughts on spiritual gifts (12:3-8); genuine love (12:9-21); good citizenship (13:1-14). The final chapters provide brilliant instruction for dealing with everything from church division to difficult brethren.  

Romans is a life-changing letter for people who are willing to admit they are sinners. For those who admit they are on the wrong plane, the letter provides the correct itinerary.

 

Read it and take note. That flight home is one you don't want to miss.

FOOD:  

D.I.Y. Toothpaste 

makes 1/4 cup  

6 tablespoons baking soda 

2 tablespoons salt 

2 tablespoons glycerin 

20 drops peppermint, spearmint or cinnamon essential oil  

Mix all the ingredients together into a smooth paste. Store in a covered container.  

FUN: 

In honor of the upcoming St. Patrick's Day an Irish joke 

 

Paddy was in New York .

 

He was patiently waiting and watching the traffic cop on a busy street crossing.

The cop stopped the flow of traffic and shouted, "Okay, pedestrians." Then he'd allow the traffic to pass He'd done this several times, and Paddy still stood on the sidewalk.

 

After the cop had shouted, "Pedestrians!" for the tenth time, Paddy went over to him and said, "Is it not about time ye let the Catholics across?"
